I know it's been a few days since I've posted, but I'm a bit under the weather.  While attempting to be content doing nothing, which is not an easy task for me, I am randomly looking online.  I have no agenda, no urgent need to find anything specific, just a day to be as lazy as I can stand!! Now I AM a frequent reader of the Lemont Patch which has great information that's actually relevant to me.  They reposted a blog from the Patch in Alameda, CA that I had to share with you. It's brilliantly written and very true!!!

The author is spot on!!  Her children are learning that life isn't easy and that you have to work for things. I love parents who allow their kids to make mistakes and figure things out on their own. I see parents "fixing" their kids' art projects almost to a point where they take over and do it for them.  SO WHAT IF IT ISN'T PERFECT!!  In their eyes it probably is. Being a parent, I understand completely the want to do EVERYTHING for your kid.  You want them to have all the things you didn't have growing up. You want them to feel safe and protected all the time.  You want them to be perfect. Well parents...here is a wake up call!!!  Perfect is perfectly boring, kids who have everything they desire don't appreciate any of it and when you raise a kid in a safe little bubble they don't learn to be self-sufficient!!  

Parenting...it isn't for wimps!!!
